Many people believe that a parked or pointed domain name have some value to gain for example on search engine listings but it’s just not true.
You can for example register monitors.co.za, motherboards.co.za and harddrives.co.za and point it to or park it at your main website computers.co.za but fact of the matter is that the three parked or pointed domains DON’T have any CONTENT of it’s own and therefore are useless for search engine improvement purposes.
To have real value search engine wise you need CONTENT under each domain name and can for example write articles about monitors at monitors co.za, discuss motherboards at motherboards.co.za and place prominent LINKS to your main computers.co.za on each SEPARATE domain name / website.
There are however some exceptions such as where you for example have a main website like online-billing.co.za but also register and point (or park) onlinebilling.co.za to your main website in order to both prevent other people from register onlinebilling.co.za and “catch” people that forget to type the hyphen (-) in the domain name.
(I personally prefer a domain name with the hyphen (-) in it because there is NO such word as for example “onlinebilling” in the english dictionary while online-billing is TWO separate keywords so I always register BOTH and use the domain with the hyphen as main website)
